Unlike open spill pallets or soft-cover units, hard cover drum pallets feature a rigid polyethylene shell with a lockable roller-shutter door, providing weather protection, security against unauthorised access, and vandal resistance. They are purpose-designed for outdoor storage of hazardous drums in commercial, industrial, and municipal environments across Ireland.

 

When drums containing oils, chemicals, acids, or solvents are stored outdoors or in semi-public areas, a hard cover spill pallet delivers a higher level of protection than an open or soft-cover unit. The rigid enclosure keeps rain out of the sump, prevents UV degradation of drum labels, and – critically – locks to prevent tampering or theft.
